Lockout hurts Braves’ chance to cash in on championship

CHICAGO (AP) — World Series champions for the first time in 26 years, the Atlanta Braves were all set to cash in. With young stars like Ronald Acuña Jr., to go along with a swanky ballpark and surrounding entertainment district, they had everything in place.

Braves star Acuña out for season after tearing knee vs Miami

MIAMI (AP) — Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. will undergo season-ending surgery after suffering a complete tear of the ACL in his right knee during Atlanta’s 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins on Saturday.

An MRI showed the severity of the injury and the Braves made the announcement shortly before midnight, finishing the year for one of the most dynamic players in the majors.

Braves star Ozuna granted $20,000 bond on assault charge

ATLANTA (AP) — Braves star Marcell Ozuna was released from jail on $20,000 bond Monday after being charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and battery against his wife.

Ozuna had been jailed since Saturday after police officers in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs said they witnessed him attacking his wife, Genesis, while responding to a 911 call.

Braves series opener against Nationals Monday postponed

The opening weekend of the season didn’t go well for the Atlanta Braves who suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies. Kemp blasts MLB for moving All-Star game from Georgia
